GrowthConsole Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 27, 2026 Last updated: September 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Growth Gauge, Inc., a Florida corporation ("Growth Gauge," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and shares information in connection with the GrowthConsole desktop application for macOS (the "App"), the website at https://www.growthconsole.com (the "Website"), and related support and licensing services (together, the "Services").
By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Services.
1. The Short Version
- Your Search Console data stays on your Mac. The App connects directly from your computer to Google's Search Console API and saves the results to a file on your own disk. We do not receive, store, or have access to your Google Search Console data or your Google account credentials.
- We collect a small amount of information to run the business. This includes website analytics, purchase and license information, and basic technical details the App sends when it checks for updates or validates a Pro license.
- Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy. Lemon Squeezy is our reseller and merchant of record. We never see or store your full payment card details.
- We do not sell your personal information.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
GrowthConsole is built to be local-first. In particular, we do not collect, receive, or store:
- Data retrieved from Google Search Console, such as queries, pages, clicks, impressions, click-through rates, positions, or property lists;
- Your Google account password;
- Your Google OAuth access or refresh tokens, which are stored locally on your Mac;
- The contents of your GrowthConsole database files, content groupings, annotations, or exports.
This data is processed entirely on your device. You control it, and you are responsible for securing and backing up the device and files where it is stored.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information you provide to us
- Purchase and account information. When you buy a Pro License, Lemon Squeezy collects your payment details and shares certain order information with us, such as your name, email address, billing country, order number, product purchased, subscription status, and license key.
- Support communications. If you email us or otherwise contact us, we collect your name, email address, and the contents of your message, including any attachments or screenshots you choose to send.
- Mailing list. If you sign up for product updates, we collect your email address.
3.2 Information collected automatically by the App
The App does not include analytics or usage tracking. It does contact our servers, or servers operated on our behalf, for two purposes:
- Update checks. To tell you when a new version is available, the App periodically sends a request that includes the App version, your macOS version, your device architecture (for example, Apple silicon), and your IP address, which is transmitted as a normal part of any internet connection.
- License activation and validation. If you enter a Pro license key, the App sends the license key, an anonymous instance identifier generated for your installation, a device name or label if applicable, and your IP address to Lemon Squeezy's licensing service and/or our servers. This confirms the license is valid, enforces activation limits, and keeps your Pro features active.
The Lite License requires no account or registration and does not perform license validation.
3.3 Information collected automatically by the Website
- Analytics. We use website analytics tools to understand how visitors use the Website. These tools may collect information such as pages viewed, referring URLs, approximate location (derived from IP address), browser type, device type, operating system, and time spent on pages. Some analytics tools use cookies or similar technologies.
- Server logs. Our hosting providers automatically record standard log information, such as IP address, browser type, request time, and pages requested, for security and troubleshooting.
See Section 8 for more about cookies.
4. Google User Data and Google API Services
The App uses Google's OAuth authorization to access Google Search Console data on your behalf. When you connect a Google account, Google asks you to grant the App permission to read your Search Console data. The App uses that permission only to download your Search Console data to your Mac so you can view, analyze, group, annotate, and export it inside the App.
- Where Google user data goes. Google user data travels directly between Google's servers and your Mac. It is not transmitted to, stored on, or processed by Growth Gauge servers.
- No human access. Growth Gauge personnel cannot read your Google user data. If you choose to send it to us, for example by attaching an export to a support request, we will use it only to respond to that request.
- No sharing or selling. We do not transfer or sell Google user data to anyone, and we do not use it for advertising.
- No AI model training. We do not use Google user data to develop, improve, or train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
- Revoking access. You can disconnect a Google account inside the App at any time. You can also revoke the App's access from your Google Account permissions page at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. To delete Google user data already downloaded, delete the GrowthConsole data files from your Mac or uninstall the App and remove its data.
Limited Use disclosure: GrowthConsole's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
5. How We Use Information
We use the information described in Section 3 to:
- Deliver, license, and update the App;
- Process purchases, subscriptions, renewals, and refunds (through Lemon Squeezy);
- Validate license keys and prevent license misuse or fraud;
- Respond to support requests and communicate with you about your purchase or account;
- Send service messages, such as renewal reminders, receipts, and important changes to the Services or these policies;
- Send product news and marketing emails if you have opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time);
- Understand how people use the Website so we can improve it;
- Protect the security and integrity of the Services;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
6. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process personal data on these legal bases:
- Performance of a contract: to provide the App, process purchases, and validate licenses.
- Legitimate interests: to secure the Services, prevent fraud, understand Website usage, and improve our products, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent: for marketing emails and for non-essential cookies where consent is required. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: to keep records required by tax, accounting, or other laws.
7. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only as follows:
- Lemon Squeezy. Lemon Squeezy acts as our reseller and merchant of record. It processes payments, calculates and collects sales tax and VAT, issues receipts and refunds, and provides license key services. Lemon Squeezy processes your information under its own privacy policy, available at https://www.lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.
- Service providers. We use vendors that help us run the Services, such as website hosting, website analytics, email delivery, customer support tools, and update distribution. They may access personal information only to perform services for us and must protect it.
- Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that it is required by law, subpoena, or court order, or that it is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Growth Gauge, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. If Growth Gauge is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.
- With your consent. We may share information for other purposes with your permission.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Website uses cookies and similar technologies for essential functions and for analytics. The App does not use cookies.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, and where required by law we will ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the Website work. Pages that open Lemon Squeezy's checkout are subject to Lemon Squeezy's cookie practices.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. The Website does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals. Where required by applicable law, we treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
9. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy:
- Purchase and license records: for the life of your license and afterward as required for tax, accounting, and legal purposes (typically up to 7 years).
- Support correspondence: for up to 3 years after the matter is resolved, unless a longer period is needed for an ongoing issue.
- Update-check and server logs: typically no longer than 90 days, unless needed to investigate a security issue.
- Website analytics: according to the retention settings of our analytics provider, typically no longer than 26 months.
- Marketing list: until you unsubscribe.
Data stored locally by the App stays on your Mac until you delete it.
10. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for communication between the App, the Website, and our servers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Because your Search Console data and Google authorization tokens are stored on your Mac, their security also depends on the security of your device. We recommend using FileVault disk encryption, a strong login password, and up-to-date software.
11. International Data Transfers
Growth Gauge is based in the United States. Information we collect may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate, and those countries may have different data protection laws from yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
12. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate information;
- Deletion: ask us to delete your personal information, subject to legal exceptions (for example, records we must keep for tax purposes);
- Portability: receive your information in a portable format;
- Objection or restriction: object to or ask us to limit certain processing;
- Withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent;
- Opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising: we do not sell or share personal information for these purposes;
- Non-discrimination: we will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
How to make a request. Email us at privacy@growthconsole.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding, for example by confirming the email address used for your purchase. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows it. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
Appeals. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with "Appeal" in the subject line. If you are still unsatisfied, you may contact your state attorney general or local data protection authority.
EEA and UK residents also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority.
Remember that we do not hold your Search Console data. You can delete it at any time by removing the App's data files from your Mac.
13. Information for California Residents
This section supplements this policy for California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the "CCPA").

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top. If the changes are material, we will give additional notice, such as a notice on the Website or an email to Pro License holders, before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the Services after an update takes effect means you accept the revised policy.
